fear of failure

Enjoy success when you crush your fear of failure

Starting your own business can be tough and sometimes scary because you might worry about things not going as planned. Many fear failing because they think it means they’re not good enough and others will reject them. But it’s important to know that failure is a normal part of life and can help you learn and grow.

You can change your thoughts and actions to overcome the fear of failing. Instead of seeing failure as a terrible thing, try to think of it as an opportunity to learn and improve. It’s like when you make a mistake in a video game—it helps you get better for the next round!

Make it easier

Breaking big goals into smaller tasks can make them less overwhelming and more achievable. Just like when you have a big project at school, you can divide it into smaller parts and work on them step by step. This makes it easier and less scary to tackle.

Get support

Having supportive people around you is important too. It’s like having cheerleaders who believe in you and encourage you to keep going. They can be your friends, family, or even other entrepreneurs who have been through similar experiences. They can give you advice and support when things get tough.

Hypnosis can help you overcome fear of failure

Now, let’s talk about hypnosis. It’s a technique that helps you feel more confident and overcome your fear of failing. It involves relaxing your mind and using positive thoughts and images to boost your confidence. It’s like having a little mental vacation where you imagine yourself succeeding and doing great things.

My clients all learn a self-hypnosis technique that they can use anytime (obviously not when driving or taking a bath, but when they are in a place where they can relax safely). In the first session, we program two trigger words that allow them to do this.

You’re in good company

Remember, most successful entrepreneurs like Elon Musk and Arianna Huffington have faced failure but didn’t give up. Musk even admitted that he feared failure at The Dublin Web Summit in 2013.

They took risks and learned from their mistakes. As a matter of fact, they saw setbacks as opportunities to grow and improve. It’s like when you’re playing a sport—you might lose a game but learn from it and improve for the next one. Ms. Huffington’s mother told her that failure was like a bridge that can show you the way to success and that it was nothing to fear.

You can do this!

So, don’t let the fear of failing hold you back. Surround yourself with positive people to help you stay positive and keep trying. When you have a setback, call one of those people. Don’t call someone who is going to bring you down. You need to hear, “Keep going, you can do this” or “Have you tried…”, not “Well, I guess it didn’t work – maybe you can get your old job back.”

Building resilience, recovering from failure and willingness to try again is important for business and life success.
